Congratulations to the Top Women in Healthcare!
The Top Women in Healthcare Awards Luncheon took place on July 16, 2019 at The Yale Club in New York City. This celebratory event brought together female healthcare executives who are advancing their profession in meaningful and moving ways, with an impact on patients, customers, and culture at large. The event featured a networking luncheon and an eye-opening keynote address by Jennifer Mieres, national spokesperson for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement and a co-author of several books about heart health for women. Dr. Mieres spoke on the state of communication around women’s health and heart health, among other topics.
2019 Winner for Directors
Dr. Sherry McAllister is executive vice president of the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP), a 22,000-strong membership organization that educates the public about the benefits of chiropractic care.
With her at the helm, the organization has achieved impressive growth, and in just over three years, has seen membership increase from 8,000 members to its current tally of over 22,000.
During her time at F4CP, McAllister has harnessed the power of PR to shine a spotlight on America’s opioid epidemic.
In fact, McAllister was one of the first to call attention to the opioid crisis in the U.S. In order to bring attention to the dangers of opioids, F4CP, under McAllister’s guidance, rolled out a PR campaign two years ago.
F4CP has published various white papers, toolkits and eBooks on the issue, such as “Chiropractic: A Safer Strategy Than Opioids,” “Chiropractic: A Key to America’s Opioid Exit Strategy,” and recently, “As the Opioid Epidemic Rages On, Chiropractic is Recognized as Safer Option for Pain.”
McAllister’s in-house team is small but mighty, as the hard working bunch crafts educational materials to elevate awareness about safe, effective options to manage pain.
An acclaimed professional, McAllister has been featured in Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, Becker’s Spine Review, Journal of the Mississippi State Medical Association, Livestrong.com as well as numerous trade outlets.
By giving interviews and submitting articles that have received key editorial placements in Forbes, Becker’s Spine Review, Employee Benefit News and BOSS Magazine among others, McAllister has helped generate heightened media coverage for the chiropractic profession.
Outside of her work for F4CP, McAllister runs her own chiropractic practice, where she treats patients on a regular basis.
