Dr. Dan Spencer

Dr. Spencer comes from a chiropractic family. His father, brother, and sister all graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law graduated from Palmer’s Chiropractic Technologist program. Dr. Dan was high school valedictorian and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts. Dr. Dan graduated in the Chiropractic Centennial class in 1995, and he is named for the founder of Chiropractic, Dr. Daniel David Palmer. He is a member of the Pi Kappa Chi professional fraternity at Palmer College. Dr. Dan earned a degree in Biology from Adrian College in Michigan prior to enrolling at Palmer, and he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega undergraduate fraternity. Dr. Dan has practiced his entire career in his hometown of Hudson, Michigan as well as the community of Reading, Michigan. He has also been a member of the physician staff at Hillsdale Hospital since 2001. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® and is also certified in the Cox® Technic.

Dr. Dan served as President of the Michigan Club while at Palmer and has been active in state associations ever since. He held numerous leadership positions in the Michigan Chiropractic Society (MCS) and served on the transition executive committee during the historic merger of the MCS and the Michigan Chiropractic Association in forming the Michigan Association of Chiropractors (MAC). Dr. Dan served as President of the MAC in 2011–2012, and Chairman of the Board in 2013–2014, serving over 1600 fellow doctors of chiropractic. He was honored as MAC “Chiropractor of the Year” in 2012. During his leadership tenure, Dr. Dan had the opportunity to testify before members of the Michigan House of Representatives and the Michigan Senate and meet with both Governor Granholm and Governor Snyder. He remains active in the MAC and previously served as District 2 Representative and then Second Vice-President of COCSA.

Having received his first chiropractic adjustment at birth, Dr. Dan has personally experienced the healthy lifestyle that chiropractic care offers. He feels that all people need to have appropriate access to chiropractic care as it focuses on true health. He also feels that DCs should be reimbursed fairly for their vital services. Dr. Dan’s goal is for all chiropractic organizations to be as successful as possible so that society can realize the benefits of safe, effective, and affordable chiropractic care! Dr. Dan currently resides in Hillsdale, Michigan with his wife, Michelle, and their children, Nathan, Katelyn, and Nicholas.
