Dr. Tomares worked as a researcher at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland before completing his medical degree at Tel Aviv University Medical School. He completed a medical residency at Georgetown University Hospital and a 3-year post-doctoral research fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital before beginning a private practice in Rockville, Maryland in 1996. In 2016 Dr. Tomares founded übertherm LLC to develop and manufacture a unique line of thermal conduction regulating cold compression devices to address the issue of sub-0°C ultrastructural tissue injury from ice crystal formation during conventional cold therapy.
Dr. Tomares co-authored ten peer reviewed scientific articles. He and his co-founder wife Diane live in Rockville, Maryland with their five children and company dog Jake.
