What Could be Walking Through Your Door?
This is a case-based lecture pulling from cases read for chiropractors across the nation. Dr. Yochum will review a wide range of pathology from sports injury, arthritis, infection and neoplasm, all of which have come through practicing Chiropractors doors. Proper utilization of imaging will be covered, and this will remind the practicing doctor that arthritis is not the only pathology that could come through their door!
Dr. Alicia Yochum received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Point Loma Nazarene University and then worked in the ICU for one year before matriculating to Logan College of Chiropractic. She completed her diagnostic imaging residency at Logan in 2015 and received her DACBR in 2015, becoming the first second generation DACBR in the history of chiropractic. She has performed editorial review for the Journal of Chiropractic Medicine and she serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedics (JACO). Dr. Yochum has published many articles in peer reviewed journals and lectured around the country with her father, Dr. Terry Yochum, as well as in England and Germany. She recently completed her fellowship in musculoskeletal advanced imaging at Logan University with an emphasis on musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound.

The Athlete: Maintaining Ethics in Uncharted Territory
How can this profession maintain a superior ethical standard and be a model for other professions. Clearly, our “hands on” approach must be executed with the adept social skill, and purest healing intention, since the power of touch is mighty. The ratio of men to women in practice is about 4:1, 60% of our patient demographic is female. It is paramount that we understand the active female and delve deeply into Unchartered Territory so we may expose and maintain the most ETHICAL standards of practice. Dr. Spencer Baron received his DC degree from Texas Chiropractic College in 1985. He went on to earn a Diplomat of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians and has had an illustrious career as a chiropractic sports physician. His many accomplishments include team chiropractic physician for the NFL Miami Dolphins for 19 seasons, previous chiropractic physician for the MLB
Miami Marlins, and team chiropractic physician for the visiting New York Mets for eight years. He has also worked with the NHL Florida Panthers, and additionally, he was the first chiropractor in South Florida to be provided hospital staff privileges. In 2010 he was named the National Sports Chiropractor of the Year, and in 2018 he was inducted into the Professional Football Chiropractic Society – Hall of Fame. Recently appointed as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor, Chiropractic Medicine-Keiser University, West Palm Beach.

Strategies for Enhancing Joint Mobility and Stability in Clinical Practice
This course utilizes the FRC principles, in particular CARs (Controlled Articular Rotations), to teach clinicians how to educate patients on joint mobility and stability.
Upon completion of this course, the clinician will be able to apply the FRC (Functional Range Conditioning Concepts) to not only assess complete joint range of motion, but also to improve on joint restrictions. Through education, the clinician can instruct athletes and patients how to utilize CARs (Controlled Articular Rotations) on a daily basis to maintain and enhance movement patterns, performance, and reduce the potential for injury.
Dr. Joshua Kollmann received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY. Dr. Kollmann has extensive education and experience in treating all levels of athletic needs as well as musculoskeletal conditions. He earned his Master’s Degree in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention from the California University of Pennsylvania as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Kollmann has advanced training in treating soft tissue injuries, including full body certification in Active Release Technique (ART) and Graston Technique. He is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Dr. Kollmann has the distinction as a Performance Enhancement Specialist with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) which provides advanced skills to evaluate human movement. Building on a broad base of knowledge, he is certified in both acupuncture and dry needle specializations. Dr. Kollmann is also a Level III Medical Provider with Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST).
